HOW TO PLAY
- Start to load the 3D view. Turn the object left or right until your shadow looks like the target. The light and camera stay fixed.
- From level 4, tilt up and down too. Drag the object, use the rotation buttons, or focus the 3D view and use the arrow keys. Every input moves in the same five-degree steps.
- Check your match to reveal the overlap and the unmatched outline. Try same shape keeps the exact puzzle; Next level continues the twelve-level course. There is no timer or minimum score to continue.
WHAT YOUR SCORE MEANS
Your match is the intersection of the two shadow silhouettes divided by their union. A perfect match is 100%; an outline with no overlap scores 0%. Extra shadow and missing shadow both count as unmatched.
The calculation projects the whole solid onto a fixed 128 by 128 logical grid. Viewport size, screen density, lighting quality and frame rate do not change it. The result overlay shows your filled shadow and the outlined target.
Personal bests are saved separately for each level and game version. Different 3D poses may produce the same shadow and receive the same score. Display rounding stops at 99.9% unless the masks match exactly. Game points are overlap multiplied by ten, not a population percentile.

QUESTIONS
Can I play Shadow Match on my phone?
Yes, in a browser with WebGL 2 enabled. Use one finger on the object to turn it, or use the large rotation buttons. You can scroll normally outside the object.
Why does rotating a shape change its shadow?
The light stays in one direction while different parts of the shape overlap. A small turn can reveal a hidden arm or close a gap in the silhouette.
Can I retry exactly the same puzzle?
Yes. Try same shape keeps the object, target and level unchanged. Next level moves on with a fresh puzzle. Shared game links start at the recipient’s own course progress.
What if the 3D view cannot load?
A text message offers a loading retry and a link to other games. The failed load does not create a score or replace your saved results.
