Browser, display, operating-system and input latency affect every result. Treat this as a game, not a clinical measurement or a claim about cognitive ability.

Accessibility: This mechanic depends on a visual signal. The instructions and results remain accessible, but assistive-technology latency cannot produce an equivalent timing test.

HOW TO PLAY

  1. Start the current level, with 3 to 10 rounds. Each round waits for a seeded random delay between 1.5 and 4.5 seconds.
  2. Press the stage, Space or Enter as soon as the WAIT state becomes GO. Pressing before the signal marks the round “Too soon” and restarts it without recording a zero.
  3. After all valid rounds, the result shows every measurement, the arithmetic average and your best single reaction.

WHAT YOUR SCORE MEANS

Your primary result is the average across the current level because it is less sensitive to one lucky input than a single reaction. A lower average is better.

Values below the game’s plausible browser floor are marked invalid rather than used in personal records. Slow but valid rounds remain visible so the average is easy to understand.

QUESTIONS

Why can my phone and computer give different results?

Refresh rate, touch processing, mouse hardware and browser scheduling all add different amounts of delay. Compare trends on the same setup when possible.

Why use several rounds?

Several quick samples make the result less dependent on a single guess while keeping a full session short enough to replay.
